The power of creating a vision board
I have been doing vision boards for as long as I can remember. Cutting out words and pictures and mindfully glueing them to a big piece of cardboard so I can see them everyday.
On good days, they evoke greater visions and on challenging days, they remind me of where I am heading.
For me, it is a visual representation of my goals and aspirations, a map of pictures and words that offer clarity and focus.
SO WHY SHOULD YOU DO IT?
You will have a clearer sense of what you want to achieve.
It is a daily reminder of your goals to keep up the motivation and stay on track.
It encourages a positive mindset. As you focus on your goals, your attitude and outlook tends to be more optimistic.
Visualising your goals can help reduce stress and anxiety by giving you a sense of control over your life and direction. Especially helpful on days when you are struggling!
How about accountability in the office? By displaying them near your desk, you can see them and others too. Why not help and encourage one another’s progress?
Allows creative expression, makes use of those kindergarten skills (hello paper scissors, glue stick and glitter).
Great for procrastinators as when faced with choices, you can refer to your vision board to see if they lead you closer to your aspirations.
So many more benefits to remind you of the action you need to take and the work required to reach your goals. Fun and consistency will get you there!
AND as you reach your goals, make a new board and/or add new goals and dreams. Anything is possible for you!
